This product combines magnesium with zinc and vitamin B6 because they serve as common cofactors in the body and are needed for multiple metabolic conversions. Deficiencies in any or all of these nutrients can lead to multiple health issues related to neurotransmitters, hormones and more. Magnesium inhibits NMDA receptor over-activity, making it helpful for glutamate excitotoxicity and sensitivity to monosodium glutamate. Vitamin B6 is also helpful to those with MSG sensitivity. Zinc also acts as a glutamate receptor blockade.
These three nutrients all play roles in hormone metabolism.
Zinc is a cofactor for the thyroid receptor and therefore plays a role in healthy thyroid function.
This product may be helpful for patients with copper toxicity and other metals as well.
