Formulated from high purity (99.98%), micronized Pregnenolone. Pregnenolone has been described as "doing everything that DHEA does, and more1." Pregnenolone is also a steroid hormone, but a steroid hormone precursor of DHEA as well as a number of other steroid and neurosteroid hormones. It has been shown in a study2, published in 1992 by the Proceeding of the National Academy of Science, that rats given very small dosages of Pregnenolone exhibited higher levels of activity and cognition, when tested in a maze exercise.
Pregnenolone is also believed to enhance memory because it impacts NMDA receptors, whether by its own direct or indirect action. Affecting NMDA receptors results in "near-optimal transcription modulation of genes required for achieving the accommodating changes of memory processes."
