Glutamine is the most abundant amino acid in the bloodstream. It is most notable for its healing properties to the gastrointestinal tract and is helpful with ulcers and IBS. These same healing properties make it helpful for those receiving cancer therapies to heal the GI, mouth, nasal, and esophageal tissues which are commonly damaged during these treatments. Elevated cortisol levels from trauma (wounds, burns, surgeries) can deplete glutamine levels, and replenishing it may expedite wound healing. In solution L-Glutamine is virtually tasteless.
