Phenylalanine is an essential amino acid which converts to tyrosine and follows the catecholamine pathway, and is a precursor to thyroid hormone. Phenylalanine,Tyrosine, Norepinephrine, Epinephrine. Phenylalanine deficiency symptoms are confusion, lack of energy, decreased alertness, decreased memory, and diminished appetite.
